eCommerce Order Policy

THIS SITE DOES NOT REFLECT INVENTORY ON HAND.  DUE TO THE VOLUME OF ORDERS WE RECEIVE OUR INVENTORY CHANGES BY THE MINUTE.  AN ITEM THAT IS IN STOCK WHEN YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER MAY BE OUT OF STOCK BY THE TIME WE PROCESS THE ORDER. 

MOST ORDERS WILL SHIP WITHIN 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS FROM THE DATE OF YOUR ORDER.

Please understand that some orders and/or some items may occasionally take longer than the 7-10 day timeframe.  Oversize Packages & Multiple Box Shipments Are Subject to Additional Handling Charges.  International, APO/FPO, Hawaii and Alaska Orders email for shipping charges. 

We will take a deposit equal to payment in full for all parts on every order when we process your order.  This is primarily to streamline the order/shipping process.  It also serves to ensure the parts we have in stock and on order for you stay yours beginning to end. 

Items that are on backorder will ship when they are released from Harley-Davidson to us.  

We will attempt to notify our customers either email when a part is on backorder, and give the backorder release date if available.  Additionally a deposit will be taken on all items on the order including those that need to be ordered from Harley-Davidson. 

Painted parts, Calibrated Speedo/Tachs and items that are Key-Coded CANNOT be returned OR cancelled after they are ordered. 

We cannot accept any returns on any helmet for any reason.  Please make sure you have the correct size before you order. 

Orders for painted parts take anywhere from 4-12 weeks and are not returnable once they are ordered from our store.  Any damage claims need to be made with the shipper delivering the item to the customer at the time of delivery.  We inspect every painted part prior to shipment and pack to prevent damage but it can occur so please inspect your package(s) upon delivery. 

Motor City Harley-Davidson does not ship anything that can be considered a hazardous material this includes all fluids, aerosols and batteries.  These items will be removed from any order and notification may not be sent. 

Motor City Harley-Davidson accepts returns on mounted/installed parts at our discretion or if they are defective in manufacture.  We will not accept any returns on electrical parts or electronic components, or any item not in a saleable condition, other than warranty issues. 

International Customers are responsible for all customs duties, clearance fees and similar charges and fees that may be involved in order for you to receive the merchandise ordered.  You are also responsible for those same fees on any returns to us.  We have no control over these charges and customs policies and charges vary widely from country to country.

Order Additions
You may add items to an existing order at any point you like within 12 business hours of placing the order. Handling charges will be adjusted if needed. Parts added after the 12 hour period will be treated as a separate order to avoid any delays on the original order. 

Order Cancellations
You may cancel an order within 12 business hours of placing your order without a cancellation fee.  Any order cancelled after the 12 hour period is subject to a 10% cancellation fee.  The 10% fee is calculated as 10% of the full retail price of all items cancelled.  Orders are usually processed in our system within 30 minutes of us receiving the order, and ordered with our vendors within 12 business hours.  We receive and process orders during our normal business hours only.  Cancellations are to be made by email.  Exceptions may be made for items we have in stock or we determine are quickly saleable.  Exceptions are at the sole discretion of the internet department management staff. 

No order is cancellable after it enters shipping process.  Once it is in the shipping process a cancellation attempt will classify as a Return, and be subject to our Return and Exchange policy. 

Backorders can be cancelled without penalty unless they have shipped.  A backorder is an item not available from a vendor, not an item that is on order with a vendor and available. 

Special ordered aftermarket items and items that are vendor-direct such as key-coded, painted items and items with mileage cannot be cancelled after the 12 hour period for any reason. 

By placing your order with us you agree to the terms and policies above.

eCommerce Return and Exchange Policy

Motor City Harley-Davidson will issue a refund/exchange for any item you return that meet the following conditions: 

  • You must return or exchange products within 30 days of receipt of the product shipment.

  • Any item purchased from Motor City Harley-Davidson in its original condition including all product tags, instructions, hardware, accessories, and packaging.

  • Any item that is defective in manufacture or workmanship for warrantyreplacement/repair.

  • There are no returns on any electrical parts for any reason.

  • There are no returns on any painted parts for any reason.

  • There are no returns on any installed parts for any reason.

  • There are no returns on any parts missing the original packaging.

  • There are no returns on any helmets.

  • You will be charged a 20% restocking fee (based on the full retail price) on any returned Genuine Harley-Davidson or aftermarket item returned.  No exceptions.

Motor City Harley-Davidson will not refund handling unless the return is a result of Motor City Harley-Davidson’s error. 

Return Exchange and Warranty Procedure

  • Complete and mail the Return, Exchange and Warranty Request Form below.

  • A copy of the original invoice must accompany the return.

  • Clearly mark the label with either Return, Exchange or Warranty so the package can be routed correctly.

  • Include all returned or exchanged items in the original packaging with product tags intact (see policy above).

  • Pack all products carefully and either mail or deliver to Motor City Harley-Davidson at the address shown below within 30 days of receipt of shipment.  

  • Your refund will be for the Purchase Price minus the restocking or for an exchange.

  • Do not write on product packaging, additional fees will be added for any product that needs to be repackaged due to writing on product box.

·        Please do not call Motor City Harley-Davidson.  Ecommerce orders are handled in a different department. 

For your protection, we recommend that you insure your shipment for the invoice amount.  Motor City Harley-Davidson will not be responsible for damage due to shipping.  Damage that occurs during shipment is best handled directly with the shipping company.  Please call the appropriate shipper to file a damage claim.
